Color of the Month: Brighten Your World with High Reflective White
If you intend to brighten your kitchen or bathroom to achieve a clean, neutral appearance, look no further than Bayshore Remodels’ color of the month: High Reflective White.
Our interior and exterior painting professionals share the qualities of this minimal Sherwin-Williams color that has certainly earned its name.
Is High Reflective White a True White?
Out of the entire Sherwin Williams color collection, High Reflective White (SW 7757), is Sherwin Williams’ purest, genuinely white shade of paint. This classic color will appear neutral compared to any other shade, making it an excellent choice for trim, crown molding, built-in cabinetry, and much more.
Its LRV, or Light Reflectance Value, is 93 out of 100. This means it is one of the brightest white paints on the market. Additionally, this color has nearly no undertones. As a result, it often takes on the tones of its environment. Its ability to reflect other colors in the environment gives it the appearance of undertones.
Where Can You Use High Reflective White?
Due to its highly versatile nature and ability to pair with nearly any other color, High Reflective White can be used throughout your home interior in many ways. It’s commonly used on trim, including:
Baseboards
Crown molding
Built-ins
It also looks stellar on cabinets, especially in kitchens or bathrooms with cool-toned materials such as marble countertops or a classic, white subway tile backsplash.
You can even use this color as a trim on your home exterior. Keep in mind, however, that the reflective nature of this paint will mimic shades from your natural environment.
When Should You Not Use High Reflective White?
In some cases, you may want to consider a different shade of white for your home. If the rest of your color palette includes warm beiges and neutrals, you may want to select a white with slightly more warmth, as High Reflective White may appear a bit cold and sterile compared to warmer tones.
Also, keep in mind that this white does not have much ‘hide,’ meaning it can’t cover other shades on your wall as easily. If this color has stolen your heart but you want to paint over a dark color, Bayshore Remodels can make your dream paint shade a reality!
Timeless & Chic with a Classic White
High Reflective White is a gorgeous, clean, incredibly bright white. It’s a stunning choice for either interior or exterior trim and would be a heavenly pair on cabinets with cool-toned features such as marble or quartz.
